Confirm what is unresponsive
A frozen app, a delayed network response and a completely unresponsive device are not identical symptoms. Record what still responds if you can do so safely. The purpose is to identify the scope, not to repeatedly provoke a failure.
When the device still responds normally, consult ordinary restart guidance instead of assuming force restart is the better version. Avoid carrying out an unfamiliar sequence while important work or an account operation is in progress.
Why a familiar button sequence is insufficient
The inspected Apple guide groups supported devices, but does not explicitly name Duo. Its different biometric-button arrangement makes matching by the phrase Touch ID unsafe. A reliable instruction must establish that the model is included.
PhoneHelp has no retail device verification to fill that gap. We will not manufacture a step-by-step recipe to make this page look complete, or claim that pressing an assumed sequence has been tested.
Keep recovery actions out of the shortcut
Force restart and restoring a device are different operations. Restore or erase may have consequences for data and access. Do not accept such a prompt merely because a generic search result calls it part of restarting.
- Seek the current official instruction for the exact model.
- Tell support whether the whole device or only one app is affected.
- Keep the old working device and known backups intact.
- Ask about data consequences before accepting recovery actions.
When the page can be updated
A clear official model-specific instruction or appropriately documented independent confirmation is needed. We will record its source, date and software scope before publishing an actionable sequence.
The status here is under investigation at the documentation level, not a confirmed Duo fault. No frequency or success-rate claim is made.
