A charger label is only part of the chain

The adapter, cable, wireless charger, phone configuration and environment all affect the result. A large wattage printed on an adapter is not proof that every port or cable combination supplies the required charging profile. Multiport adapters may also change the available power when other devices are connected.

Apple’s source qualifies the measurement with its test hardware and starting conditions. We do not replace those conditions with an unsupported claim about a constant phone input wattage.

Do not extend a partial-charge claim to a full charge

A time to a stated percentage is not a linear forecast for the rest of the battery. Avoid doubling a partial-charge time to promise a full charge. Wireless alignment, accessory compatibility and temperature can also affect the experience.

• Check adapter and cable compatibility together.
• Use the charger maker’s documented port and power configuration.
• Do not charge a wet or visibly damaged phone.

Troubleshoot the setup before alleging a device defect

If charging later behaves unexpectedly, first document the adapter, cable, accessory and conditions. A safe comparison with another known-compatible setup is more informative than repeatedly forcing a hot connector or blaming the phone from one observation.
