How to Transfer Data to Pixel 11

Start the transfer

These are Google’s current general Pixel steps unless Google documents a Pixel 11 difference. During setup, select Android or iPhone as the phone you are copying from. Follow the cable, wireless, or QR option offered on screen. Keep both phones powered, use stable Wi-Fi when the flow needs it, keep the devices near each other, and check that the new Pixel has enough storage for what you select. Unlock the old phone and approve its connection prompts. Do not erase it until you have opened important content on the Pixel.

Transfer from Android

Turn on both phones. When the Pixel asks for the previous device, choose the Android or Pixel option shown. For a QR flow, open the setup notification or camera on the old phone and scan the code on the Pixel. For a cable flow, connect the phones and approve Trust on the old phone. Choose the offered transfer selection and start copying.

Google says current Pixel guidance can use wireless, cable, or both and can select the best available option from the connection. Follow the method the setup flow offers rather than assuming every source phone has every method.

Transfer from iPhone

During Pixel setup, choose iPhone as the source device and follow the cable or wireless path offered for that iPhone. Keep it unlocked and approve any connection or account prompt. Treat eSIM activation separately; copying data does not prove that the mobile line transferred.

Cable and wireless choices

A data-capable cable can avoid relying entirely on Wi-Fi and may be offered for a direct copy. A wireless or QR flow requires the phones to remain near each other with a strong connection. If the Pixel changes methods during setup, follow the on-screen path it selects.

What can transfer

From Android, Google lists supported items such as texts, photos, music, contacts, calendars, apps, Google Account data, files, and downloads. The actual review screen is the applicable list for the source phone and method. Account-backed data may appear after the relevant account signs in and syncs.

Limits to check

Some data stored in manufacturer-specific apps may not transfer. Apps obtained outside Google Play or data an app manages separately can require the app’s own setup. Passwords and notes depend on whether supported Google apps hold that data. The available methods and results vary by source device, software, account, and whether the data was backed up.

Keep the old phone and its backup until messages, recent photos, important files, and essential apps have been checked on the Pixel.

If transfer is interrupted

Reconnect both phones to power, unlock the source phone, and check for an approval prompt. Restore a strong Wi-Fi connection, keep the phones together, or reseat a known-good data cable. Retry the offered flow after checking storage instead of erasing either phone.

Google says an interrupted Android transfer can be completed later with Android Switch in Pixel settings.

If Pixel storage is full

Google warns that a transfer can pause when Pixel storage fills. Compare free space with the data you selected, free space without removing an unverified source copy, then continue with a smaller selection if needed.

Continue after setup

For an interrupted Android copy, open the Android Switch option provided in the Pixel’s settings and follow the current prompts. Post-setup availability and what can still move depend on the source device and what was already copied.
