How to Transfer an eSIM to Galaxy Z Fold8

DIRECT ANSWER

Use Settings, Connections, SIM manager, Add eSIM, and Transfer SIM from another phone when your carrier, market, and devices support the offered transfer.

Choose setup-time or later activation

These steps are based on Samsung’s current Galaxy eSIM guidance and apply to the Galaxy Z Fold8 unless Samsung documents a model-specific difference. Transfer availability depends on the carrier, market, source phone, and software.

During initial setup, use the mobile-plan transfer option if it appears and follow the approvals shown on both phones. If you skip it or the option is not offered, add or transfer the eSIM later from Settings.

Transfer later from SIM manager

SETTINGS PATHSettings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM → Transfer SIM from another phone

On the old Galaxy, approve Transfer, enter the code shown by the Fold8 if asked, and select the SIM to move. Confirm the transfer on both devices and wait for activation to finish before relying on the new phone for service.

Transfer from an iPhone

iPhone-to-Galaxy transfer is available only with supported carriers. Update both phones to current software and keep Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on for both devices. From Add eSIM, choose Transfer SIM from iPhone if it appears, then follow the QR-code or passcode connection and approve the number on the iPhone.

If the iPhone transfer option does not appear, that does not establish a Fold8 fault. Use the carrier’s current activation process.

Use a QR code or carrier activation

From Add eSIM, scan a current QR code supplied by the carrier, or let the phone search for a carrier plan when that option is available. A carrier may instead require its app, website, activation code, account verification, or support channel.

Do not rely on a fixed carrier list: eligibility can change by market, plan, device, and software.

If activation does not finish

Keep the old line and eSIM intact. Confirm current software, stable Wi-Fi, Bluetooth where the transfer flow requires it, and any pending approval on the old phone. Retry the offered path once.

Contact your carrier for persistent activation failure, an unavailable transfer option, a rejected or expired QR code, or account eligibility and identity checks. Do not delete a working eSIM as a routine fix; ask the carrier how the profile can be restored before removing it.
