Phone Wi-Fi Help
Fix common Pixel and Android Wi-Fi connection problems by checking phone settings, restarting safely, and separating phone issues from router issues.
The shortest useful answer.
Toggle Wi-Fi, confirm Airplane mode is off, restart the phone, and test another network or device to learn whether the problem follows the phone or the router.
Try these checks first
- Confirm Airplane mode is off.
- Turn Wi-Fi off, wait a few seconds and turn it on again.
- Restart the phone.
- Move closer to the router and retry.
- Test another device on the same network.
- Test the phone on another known network if one is available.
The last two checks separate a phone-specific problem from a router or internet-service problem.
Settings → Network & internet → InternetIf only one network fails
Check whether the network name is correct and whether the password changed. Public and workplace networks may need a browser sign-in page or administrator approval.
Restart the router only if you are allowed to manage it and doing so will not interrupt critical users or services. Wait for it to finish reconnecting before testing again.
Forgetting one network removes its saved password from the phone. Make sure you know the password before selecting the option.
If every Wi-Fi network fails
Update the phone over another connection if possible, then restart. Temporarily disable a recently added VPN only when you understand how to reconnect it and the issue began after that VPN changed.
If Bluetooth also changed at the same time, review the combined network reset only after the safer checks below.
Settings → System → Reset options → Reset Bluetooth & Wi-FiThe exact label can change by Android version. Record important Wi-Fi credentials and accessory pairings before continuing.
What not to do
- Do not reset the router when you do not own or administer it.
- Do not forget a network before confirming the password.
- Do not reset all network settings as the first step.
- Do not factory-reset the phone for a single untested Wi-Fi network.
When to escalate
Contact the network administrator or internet provider when multiple devices fail on the same network. Use manufacturer support when the phone fails on multiple known-good networks after official software and safe settings checks.
Questions about this guide.
Q01What does Reset Bluetooth & Wi-Fi remove?
It removes saved Wi-Fi connections and Bluetooth pairings, so you will need network passwords and must pair accessories again.
Q02How can I tell whether the router is the problem?
Try another device on the same network and try the phone on a different network. The result helps isolate the phone, router, or internet service.
