Start with what your current phone actually stores

Inspect the used storage on your current phone before selecting a tier. Separate essential apps, original photos and video projects from downloads you rarely need. A large media library can be managed in different ways, but the right choice depends on whether reliable connectivity is available when you need those files.

Do not size a new phone only around a freshly cleaned device. Consider the period you plan to keep it, the projects you expect to carry and the inconvenience of repeatedly deleting downloads.

For travel, account for offline maps, entertainment and work documents together. For recording, think about how quickly you can offload material and how long you need originals on the phone. For games, check your actual installations rather than assuming all titles consume similar space.

The local price table makes each step in capacity visible. Compare that extra cost with the time and inconvenience it would save. A storage upgrade is a one-time hardware choice; cloud services, data plans and backup arrangements may introduce separate ongoing costs.

Storage is also not a backup. Keeping all originals on one device leaves a single point of loss. Decide how you will maintain another copy regardless of the capacity you buy.
