Pocketability belongs to the closed shape
The open depth describes a state in which the device is spread out. It does not describe the thickness in your pocket. Compare the closed width, height and depth with a phone or object you already carry, and leave room for any case you expect to add.
A paper outline can help you visualize the footprint without pretending to reproduce the material, edge shape or weight distribution. It is a planning aid, not a hands-on ergonomic test.
Reading space belongs to the open shape
The inner display is useful when the task benefits from extra width: two related apps, a reference document or a camera preview. Consider where you will hold the phone open and whether you usually have both hands free. A generous working area and a convenient one-handed grip are different priorities.
- Measure the actual pocket or bag compartment you use.
- Account for the accessory footprint separately.
- Try opening, closing and reaching controls in person when possible.
Weight alone cannot predict comfort
A published mass is a repeatable reference, but it does not establish how the phone feels after a long call or reading session. Grip, balance, posture and an attached case can all affect comfort. PhoneHelp has not measured those experiences on a retail Duo.
Read display and accessories alongside these measurements. Do not infer a comfortable grip from a slim open profile, or a poor grip solely from a larger number on the scale.
